A Video Is Worth a Thousand Words

I will be pithy today and just say that recently I've been debating a few liberal friends who keep telling me how paranoid I am. Despite all the associations, the government take over of banks and car companies, and the White House's 'rat out website', we are crazy wackos to think Mr. Obama might actually try to indoctrinate children to go home and tell their parents to believe this and that.

The first two minutes of this video have some really good ideas and I wish our Hollywood friends would've consented to make such a video under the Bush administration.

But, after two minutes you start to hear some very liberal sounding ideas and at the end of the video you find out we are going to pledge allegiance to Barack Obama and to "change." In this entire video, you hear nothing about the benefits of capitalism which has taken more people out of poverty and lifted more people out of tyranny then any nation on earth. Apparently, this is not something to be celebrated.

I pledge allegiance to no man and I give up my life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness to no one. I live in a country of freedom, and I plan to keep it that way.

False principles From the Left

Have you heard much from Cindy Sheehan these days? Prior to the 08' election Ms. Sheehan was everywhere. Good old 'Code Pink' seemed to be on television almost daily explaining the horrors of war. But now that Barack Obama is in office, even though there are more troops than ever in Afghanistan, she and the state-cooperative media are eerily silent on the topic of "war mongering."

Pick a Republican, any Republican, in the last thirty years that spoke of the importance of their religious views in day-to-day living (Bush, George HW Bush, Quayle, Palin, Reagan)and our liberal friends busted out in separation of church and state rants. They also, in some cases, succeeded in defining these people as being incredibly stupid. Last weekend you have a grandchild to Mr. Kennedy praying for universal health care and the media is jubilant. God wants health care. God hates those of us who aren't compassionate to pay for all those illegal aliens to get free care. Apparently it is okay to involve God in the health care debate but not in the abortion debate.

Ninety-one percent of blacks voted for Barack Obama and yet nobody speaks of "racism", yet McCain wins by twelve points with whites and we are motivated by color.

Prior to the election protests were encouraged by the left and were hailed as involving new participants to the political process. Yet, when grandma goes to a town hall meeting she is branded part of an angry mob. Compare the ages of the two groups of protesters and you decide which group is more likely to break out in riots and physical violence...the folks with the Kill Bush signs or grandma who wants to make sure she has a choice over her own life.

The deficit seemed to be a major concern of the left a few years back (and it should have been), but now that our fearless leader has authorized more spending than all our other presidents combined, the silence from our liberal friends is deafening.

The Republican government was not to be trusted in the Katrina aftermath, but now can fully be trusted to take over 1/6th of our economy (health care) as well as our banks, and car companies.

For many on the left their espoused principles have little value outside of how much power they can consolidate from them. Once power is gained they move on to something else. The cheerleaders become bench warmers until power is lost and then they trot out the same class envy, the same racism, and the same separation of church and state arguments, which as always, apply to everybody else but themselves.

Young children can pray if it is for government health care, the ACLU supports the rights of any liberal women but would never pick up a finger to help Sarah Palin, and the media cares about overseas troop levels when a Republican is in office but barely picks up a finger to discuss it while liberals govern. The list is endless and it is shameful.

There are principled people on the left and they are entitled to their beliefs. But for far too many, the principles are simply a means to an end. When they abandon them to make some other point, we need to remind them what was previously said. If they believe religious faith has no business in the public arena of ideas, then stop using God to make the rest of us feel guilty.
